Alberto Friscione Carrascosa
Dive Shop Owner, Videographer, Producer
Alberto Friscione Carrascosa developed a passion for
undersea life at a very early age. After graduating with a
Veterinary degree from the University of Veracruz, Alberto
settled in Cancun and opened his own dive shop, Solo Buceo. To
this day, he has conducted many expeditions in

Mexico, Canada, the United States, Belize, Honduras,
Costa Rica, Colombia, Panama, Bahamas, Cayman, Cuba, Tonga, Vavau" A, Fiji, Indonesia
and some Caribbean islands.
ACHIEVEMENTS
Rescue Diving - He has made an important number
of rescues of lost people in the sea and underwater caves. One
of the most remembered
|
rescue was the one in which Cuauht?oc Hank Ron, son of
professor Hank, who got lost deep inside a cenote.
Underwater Video and Photography - For the last 24 years,
Friscione has been traveling with his camera around the world.
During this years, he has been able to work with such
personalities as Ramon Bravo, Genaro Hurtado, Alfonso Arnold,
and Fabricio Feduchy.
Along his career, he has been able to collaborate with some
television networks, such as ASAHI National Broad Casting
(Brazil, Argentina,
Venezuela, and France), National Geographic,
Discovery Channel, Animal Planet, TBS Vision (Japan) and in some
Mexican national television networks.
With his photos and video, he has worked with many people trying
to show to the world, the beauties of sea life and its
conservation.

Friscione has made and worked in a lot of documentaries. Among
them, the most important are: White Sharks in Guadalupe Island;
The trip to Palau; A Community to Explore: Jes" Carranza;
Symphony of the Sea; Ram" Bravo, with Arthuro Bayona's music;
The Super Fish; Mexico's Natural Parks Capsule Report;
Chinchorro's Reef; and a NATGEO documentary about reefs and
whale sharks. With Ram" Bravo, the Mexican diving legend, he
worked filming the movie "Alacranes y Gale??, and the
documentary "El Gran Arrecife Maya?.
Alberto's photos have been made into six calendars named: Macro
Photography (2000); Nomads of the Sea (2002); Life and Magic in
the Sea (2003); Giants of the Sea (2005); Sea Creatures (2008);
and Wonders of the Sea (2010).
In 2008 he set his first public exposition, called Wonders of
the Sea, in the streets of Merida, Yucat?, and Coatzacoalcos,
Veracruz. This exposition has been prized by important
personalities of national politics.
Books and Writing - Alberto has published seven
recognized books: The Great Reef of Chinchorro; Revillagigedo's
Archipelago, an Extension of our

Frontiers; The Northeast Marine
Region and its Platforms; Coco Island; The Legendary Fiji
Islands; and Wilma Hurricane, a story we shall not forget. In
2008 he made the first diving tourist guide of Veracruz.
He has received many awards from different institutions and
conservancy organizations such as: EnCadenate, as the best diver
in Quintana Roo; Amigos de Siaan |
Kaan, for his many participations in the year; Anahuac Cancun
University and Universidad del Caribe; many others were given to
him in the diving expo in Mexico City. He also received an award
from the Mayor of Coatzacoalcos, Veracruz for his participation
in the 4th International Encounter of the Sea.
Within his career as a diver instructor he has received many
satisfactions by teaching and sharing the underwater world with
hundreds of tourists that visit Cancun, and more satisfactory is
the fact of sharing this with many celebrities such as: Bruce
Willis, Silvester Stalon, Tom Cruise, Steven Segal, and Andres
Garcia. His most important student, and still friend, was Dr.
Ernesto Zedillo Ponce de Leon when he was President of Mexico.
