David C. Woodward
David C. Woodward, 86, passed away Dec. 9, 2011. Survived by his wife, Grace "Gay" Woodward; daughters, Tanya Knorr of Atlanta, Ga., and Kathi
Knox of Boston, Mass.; grandchildren, Elizabeth Harrison and David Knorr of Atlanta; Alicia, Michael, Paul and Beatrice Knox, all of Boston;
great-grandchild, Marin Knorr; sister-in-law, Margaret Frey of Wauwatosa, Wis.; and three nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his son,
Michael David Woodward in 1985. David was born to Arthur and Millicent Woodward on Aug. 9, 1925, in Tacoma, Wash. He served in the U.S. Marines
during World War II. He was an underwater photographer and SCUBA diver who had the privilege of diving alongside Lloyd Bridges, Walter Cronkite,
Buzz Aldrin and many other celebrities. He was honored as an award-winning photographer by International Legends of Diving. In addition to his
amazing career as a SCUBA diver/photographer, he also enjoyed snow skiing. There will be no viewing. Cremation, Montgomery & Steward Crematorium.
Memorial service, 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 14, 2011, First Methodist Church, 11th and Court streets, with the Rev. Dr. Rick Calhoun officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Divers Alert Network or First Methodist Church through the funeral home.
